When I redid my own yard, I don't think I even spent 3k for a FULL overhaul including 2 dozen roses, 2 dozen shrubs, a small patch of lawn, several creeping vines, a completely new irrigation system, path lights, spotlights, removing about 4 ton of decorative rock and replacing it with another 6 ton of rock and river stones for my front and back yard (desert landscaping), along with the usual trimming and pruning.Of course, I'm sure that KC has larger lots than Vegas but you're just cleaning up.

then as much as i can drink during the day and especially if i am going on a long flight like today  vegas to Philly 5 hours.. work out in hotels all decent hotels have a little gym some have really nice gymduring layovers I walk the terminals. like at Ohair I will walk the entire terminal takes a little more than an hour.. smaller airports a little tougher but i will do circuts.. my biggest problem is vendor dinners  its always the nicest resturant in town best steak  martini's great wine etc etc.those are tough to dodge.. but just dont have desert..

Luckily, our portfolio consists largely of R3 units which tend to attract snow birds for 1-3 months at a time so this doesn't directly effect us now but does change the way we can grow in the area and does effect my personal home in Palm Desert which is very popular on Airbnb! 

Well...I live in LA- can't speak for specifics about Desert Hot Springs but can speak generally to it, and I'm from GA.

Unless she moves to the desert she will continue this struggle.

Within the city of L.A is pretty much built out fully....but you are right there is still some land in L.A County ...out in the desert where it's a very long commute. 

The deserts are  for 'the eyes of the beholder" only.

That's funny, that high desert AV still growing I think and new defense contract cranking it up again.

Everything and anything you can possibly want can be found in CA -- from snow and desert geographies, to Japanese anime and Star Trek meet-ups. 

Too bad they are blasting the AC with 110 desert heat, and leaving windows and sliding glass door open all day.
