My wife worked the front lines of domestic violence for quite some time and many of her clients found it "challenging" that they were asked to accept a restraining order against themselves when they filed for one against their abusive ex.Hence why I indicated above that I would need to hear - and be able to corroborate - the explanation for the restraining order.

if there is a domestic violence issue with them ( u feel threatened) it might help in some way getting them out. document all your stress and aggravation and of course incidents. be safe!

In CA, domestic violence is a valid reason to break a lease, so you may be required to let her out, though it sounds like you're okay with her moving out anyway.
