Sometimes I just sit in wonder at this marvelous piece of technology (blackberries too!)

Technology is simply a tool and an enabler.

If job growth outpace shrinkage the technology will survive.

In addition, that type of technology allows the PM to keep track of violations such as pets without permission as well as too many people staying in a unit. 

A local economy might collapse because its major industry had been disrupted by a new technology (but hopefully one wouldn't invest in one-trick economies).  

The 9-5 job seems to be obsolete as long as the task is done, but again, when working at home some people (maybe most) are not as productive in a relaxed environment.Older Generation - Technology has always been a hindrance to many of the older generation.

This is very frustrating because calling from a cell to out of state is very costly, and with all the new technology around I just don't see any good reason to do that. 

However with modern technology there are alternative ways of solving the issue including desalinization.

And many of these firms are hiring talent of all ages certainly, but in the area of robotics, sciences and other technology fields, a lot of  young urban professionals are coming from CMU and need places to live close to these businesses.
