The county development office would be a good source for permit and plat history to get a sense of quantity, and individual property cards (and recorded deed transfers) may give you a sense of price direction.

You can also click on the little dots on the crime map and it will state what happened i.e. shots fired, trouble with subject, theft, vehicle stolen, burglary etc along with a date.Also, the boundaries of these maps are somewhat fluid.

Most wholesalers I know still do a lot of "old school" marketing....like regular yellow letter or post card mailings to motivated seller lists, or bandit signs (where allowable by law....technically not allowable in Austin, but you sure sell a lot of them, don't you?).
