Having said that I have been free from the regular rat race for a very long time.It is liberating to know you can work if you like to but not because you HAVE TO.

Second, I see a few mentions of Californians leaving their state and bringing the 'liberal' (or however you want to label it) ideals/politics to other states, which is potentially upsetting locals and I can understand where they're coming from.

From my narrow point of view of Ventura County millennials that aren't in tech or a liberal waitress, any young person with a good head on their shoulders will be packing up and leaving soon. 

Is that awful or liberating?

The most liberal cities have great appreciation partly because of all the restrictions and more building expenses, set asides etc...creates an ongoing supply issue that never gets resolved politically.

Since California is so liberal , all those measures will probably pass .
