The money is nice and I am comfortable but I feel leaving a positive imprint on the world is worth more than dollar bills.I have ultra high net worth clients 25M net worth or more and most are just down to Earth people who have foundations and charities.

But, while I deeply believe in being a generous giver, I'm still my own favorite charity, you know?  

When I give to a charity I never stroke the big check at first.

My opinion is you cannot treat REI as a charity case.

When someone asked me why I left my previous job, as a contractor working through a temporary help agency, I could say I completed my contract (I never used the "take this job and shove it" approach to moving on).As my wealth grew, I became confident enough to open and contribute regularly to a donor-advised fund and make anonymous donations to various 501(c)(3) charities to satisfy my need to be a Secret Santa.

Last night I was at a charity auction for college scholarships. 

Another benefit of volunteering for non profit/charity events is the possibility of meeting private investors.

He is not a charity!
