I bounced around living in Los Angeles, back to New York, then Virginia, and now finally settled in South Carolina. 

I am like DUDE what if that guys checks bounced you will be out of Trust you seriously accept a check and then settle and escrow on the spot..

Having someone else to bounce ideas with would be nice so I am not in the dark.

In this situation should I continue to talk to other banks, or hold off for a bit and let my credit score bounce back?

Ask you to cash the check and they will either a) pick up the cash difference b) send them back a check with the difference.They walk away with $1,000 cash, the original check you deposited bounces...

We're going to call his dad and bounce the idea off him.

They bounce from house to house, move in, don't pay rent, and hold your house hostage for months at a time because they know the system better than you do, and they use it against you. 

I have a friend who makes double what another friend in Oklahoma makes & the friend here in TX bounced around odd jobs until his health & bad legs made him disabled.
