This is simple and straightforward to do with plastic.

I tried to start my real estate investing business for 18+ years by attending "Free" workshops help by the "guru's" and bought and bought and bought to the tune of 6 plastic tubs full of outdated material.  

I usually buy duplexs..about 75% of the exhaust hoods are not hooked up correctly...the biggest problem I find is that piece of sheet metal in them that allows the air to go up the vent pipe has not been removed, that the plastic piece in the front to prevent the air from going into the kitchen is not installed, or the vent pipe in the attic is not connected to the outside.... 

Eventually, they let her go into the house to use the restroom and the reason she was holding her leg was because she slipped the 8 ounces of cocaine into her pants and the plastic baggies were sliding down her leg.I finally divorced her, got re-married, been married for 23 years and never had an argument with the exception of maybe 2 or 3 very tiny issues so small I can't tell you what they were about.

Why not just put down some plastic poly sheets up there?

I would also recommend  hard backer  for the subfloor its great.The demo dust can go every were but use some plastic and get your day labor to vacuum up .

They stole my window A/C and the plastic piece that holds the batteries in my thermostat, and they took their clothes, but everything else is still there.So I sent a text message: "Should I take these keys as an indication you do not intend to come back?"

You might consider a metal mini-blind (not plastic).
