In all, the solution is to bring in a painter, which is the final step anyway. 

Also, look at what a contractor is doing in a home, say a painter or finish carpenter.   

If you want to earn $20-$40 per hour...sure, go be a painter, a demolition man, a rough carpenter, an amatuer jack-of-all-trades.If you want to earn $80-$150...learn how to do your own evictions, serve notices, and file Deeds (i.e. your own legal work)If you want to earn $200-$400 per hour...learn how to buy properties for CHEAP, negotiate repairs and legal work with the $20-$150 per hour guys. 

Do you have multiple Sub Contractors, for similar trade skills, such as plumbers, electricians, flooring crews, painters, etc.?

Installing cabinets shouldn’t mess up your floors, and decent painters will tape off the floors too.

I have a great painter lined up that I've worked with closely in the past but I'm always interested in getting more quotes and comparing costs, so I asked him to provide the paint as a separate quote.

If you need to skim coat you may want to get a painter or drywall guy to bid, especially if some joints look bad or there is damage but you'd be surprised how good primer and a couple coats of flat paint makes a ceiling look.  

For paint, I measure based on livable sq/ft, many painters price per paintable surface sq/ft.
