Not as effective as the ducted version but it's an option.I could do that, but my intent was to be able to take some of the odors that come off the stove and get them out of the house.

I have it secured in the basement of my home until we are finished and I take a load to the scrap yard.My son gets to claim and redeem the scrap metal we pull from the properties - it's a tradition that goes back to my youth when the ones in the family too young to work in the family business (fishing) got the scrap metal ... my baby sister once lucked out when we got fouled and broke a blade off a 500# brass propeller and the wheel had to be scrapped.My soon is planning on a new bicycle in the spring :-)
