Hi everyone,I'm from Israel and would like to start investing in US single family homes.From what I understand, after preliminary research, is that the "lease option" strategy can be a good way to start.Also I'm thinking about Buffalo, NY as the location to focus on (at least at the beginning) as it has a relatively low price-to-rent ratio and frequently flying there from Israel would probably be easier than to farther states.I'd love to hear your advice on:- what should be my first steps as a foreign investor?

I require state issued ID cards with all applications.In Buffalo, we have a huge issue with tenants not paying a gas or electric bill, which then turns in to a collections account, which eventually finds its way to their credit report.

I am currently presented this opportunity of investing in a hotel (more specifically Adam's Mark) in Buffalo NY.

While I have seen deed restrictions that prohibited types of commercial [properties, types of residential properties, raising buffalo, and prohibiting sheep from grazing, I’ve never seen a prohibition against STR.so that leaves properties that are part of an HOA.  

In the Hudson valley rents are much higher than out by Buffalo, Plattsburgh, or Syracuse.

Maybe Raiders, or Chargers....they were the LA Chargers originally....but more likely a Buffalo type...or any team willing to piss off a lot of fans for the equity gain.

I'm a recent graduate from The University at Buffalo with a degree in mechanical engineering.

Buffalo to be exact. 

Cities like Buffalo NY are similar to Detroit.

I'm talking about the Buffalo and Rochester areas.
