I have a condo unit in downtown Salt Lake City that is really nice and recently remodeled.

I'm not familiar with the Hawaiian market, so take this with a shaker of salt, but if you're not grossing at least $2k a month the property isn't worth owning (as an STR).  

Now the trick is, you need to take what they say with a grain of salt. 

If it is not something that is affordable for the landlord to provide as a pass through expense, then we would just deal with it like we did in other places.To add, a couple places provided an old snow blower and a giant bag of salt.

I currently live in Salt Lake City Utah so a multi family in Salt Lake within the radius of where I need to live for work is a little out of the question.

I found that logic to be deeply flawed in most cases and it should be taken with a grain of salt.  

Try living in California where you got shafted hard by the salt tax limit and our property value got capped by the mortgage interest deduction.  

I've been shopping in Salt Lake area recently and I agree . . . they are a bit shocking! 

Does anyone have recommendations for a bookkeeper and tax accountant here in Salt Lake City? 

I would be furious at this point I would not remediate anything I would tell them to pound salt I would find a way to get rid of these tenants
