Hi @Anthony Heatley, I'm new to the DFW market too but both my business partner and I come from the DMV (DC/MD/VA) area and to us, these prices especially for multi-families, are breath of fresh air. 

A couple ideas are on my mind currently #1 take out a line of credit on the house i am in now, or use cash on hand, to go buy another sfh to live in and either rent this current houses and or air bnb it??

That includes: Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, and Hotpoint.

Otherwise I'll just spend my time on Houzz and Pinterest.There are plenty of blog posts out there that give the behind-the-scenes details of how the renovation shows do and don't work (no, they will not work on spaces that won't be on air; yes, they will make a mess of your property in some fashion), so I'm not totally jaded by what I see on tv. 

Be carefull  adding central air to a duct system that was designed for heat only , it may not cool properly .

The staining could be becasue these heaters draw air in from the bottom and push it out the top. so any dirty air  is pulled through the heater and pushed out the top causing stains on walls.
