Depending on the length of the run, whether a new transformer is needed and other stuff, it could be cheap or could be expensive.As for water and gas, are the current lines big enough?

For me, it is worth it; there is no greater joy in the world to me than to take an old beater of a house, turn it into something great with my own 2 hands, and transform it into a nice home for a nice family ...

But I am new to this and really don't know what to look for in terms of structure damage or other types of damage that tend to suggest other damage that my not be noticeable until demolition day.Also is it a smart idea to search for properties that can be transformed into more units than originally designed for?

As I mentioned I was going to protect my equipment and my family, and to that end I purchased some gfci outlets for anything that might be potentially hazardous and isolation transformers for the equipment so as to separate them from the rest of the ungrounded house.I'm also investigating possibly using other means to create an isolated, protected circuit, but thus far that is proving fruitless.If nothing else I hope this serves as a warning to others that just because someone is licensed and insured, they might not always do the right or safe thing.
