I've actually been attending the Bellevue meetings at Caliber for the last month or so.  

SLREIA also does some great meetups in the area (I like the northern utah lunch meetup in Roy as it's more laid back, but still well-attended).

I am super excited to be apart of the RE world and can't believe it has taken me this long.I would love to attend any meet ups and/or get any information I can, so please do not hesitate to contact me at anytime.

I found George's group, attended, and joined, and I recommend you attend at least one meeting.

@Ryan Y.If you attend a local REIA meeting,  usually some of the investors will be willing to share what contractors that they use or like.  

Look on Meetup.com or attend some local REIA meetings.

@Bill Gulley & @Devin Woods, On the insurance side of this, 1)  an LLC makes it a commercial policy.  2)  The renter being a student makes it a student rental. 

Make sure you stay active in the forums and attend some local real estate clubs.

I recommend you and your wife start attending some of the various investor meetups in the Austin area.
