I am not an expert on the spanish tax system but I am reading upon it - It appears that your worldwide assets(Properties in the US) would be subject to Spain's 'Wealth Tax'.Spain is a great place to live...but their tax system is killer

Being a subject matter expert, not because you are forcing it, but because you simply ARE, shows through, and investors are rightfully attracted to that. 

It’s super important you prioritize the end product: something that gets the job done well as an STR.  

;(- if as-is value is less then the balance on the mortgage + arears OOOPS you need to have the owner work with the bank, you as the investor buyer AND a short sales expert often an agent work the tedious and usually failing short sale process.

Aloha @Daniel Kam - most of Kakaako has a 180 day rental minimum, so if you haven't checked with your building association, I recommend you verify what the minimum rental period is for your building.If you are allowed to rent for less than 180 days, you will then need to apply for a GET license, and well as TAT/OTAT and pay the appropriate taxes on a regular basis.  

You won't be really able to find a tutor.I consider myself a Yardi expert focused on accounting.
