At best it sounds like you broke even and made the money strictly through principal paydown with no appreciation above your costs unless you had some pretty good cash flow. 

Theoretically, at least.Since the U.S. courts routinely find these foreign asset protection trusts to be a sham, and transfers to these trusts fraudulent transfers, the assets in the trust themselves need to be beyond the reach of the U.S. courts system.

If your Alabama LLC conducts all operations and income generation strictly in Alabama, you may not need to register it as a foreign LLC in California.

With that said, we really know what works and what doesn’t, we have a strict process as it’s proven and are selective with who we take on as clients.  

Whether that's for routine maintenance or emergency repairs.

This isn't a bad thing if that fund raiser is doing strict due diligence on the sponsor, has done multiple deals with them, etc.

If you're going the umbrella insurance route, perhaps see if it will cover you for several things including just the routine slip and fall (like mold or earthquake).
