I agree they have changed a lot since then: The ousting or resignation (who knows exactly what happened) of the CEO and takeover by his brother (with no public announcement of what happened), the scandal with the CFO accusing them of impropriety and the company counter-accusing the CFO of extortion, and then the complete change of the business model from accredited investors to nonaccredited eReit.

Since Wells Fargo is the worst offender in banking scandals and they operate a pretty corrupt business I'd prefer not to work with them, but they do offer up to $500,000 for a HELOC on an investment property (versus the more reputable PenFed Credit Union which only offers up to $400,000 and a lower interest rate).
