Edgar Perez FSBO: for sale by owner post Aug 2024 commission changes
30 September 2024 | 10 replies
Tags: Kenosha Wisconsin fsbo agent realtor  Legally you were never expected or bound to offering the commission. Now you can simply only pay the selling agent, and the buyers agent has to inform the buyer that they might have to pay - in an ideal world....The risk of not offering to pay the buyer side is the buyer can tell their buyers agent to skip houses where they would have to put out for the commission, it may result in less offers on your home.It is now ultimately up to the seller, but in a for sale by owner.... you are not signing any listing agreement with a listing agent so, again the buyer's agent would need to pay the agent. If you are an agent selling your own home off-market FSBO, check your state laws on disclosure etc.

@Dan DiFilippo for the sake of the conversation, I can’t wrap my head around crypto being a de facto currency as an ever expanding population needs a money supply to expand somewhat with it, or the ensuing hikes to interest rates caused by more and more people chasing a finite resource would decimate the economy.I freely admit I haven’t researched this enough, but interested to hear thoughts.Full disclosure I don’t have any crypto whatsoever, and think if it becomes as widespread as bullish views want it to be, I could end up accepting rent in BC or sell a property or 2 and convert to BC.

If you really don't value your agent's ability and think you can do it better, it's likely best that you 1) interview more to find one that you do trust, 2) go through the listing agent, directly, if you're that comfortable with handling your side on your own, or 3) maybe get your license so you can control your side of negotiations with the proper tools needed (MLS access with agent info, showings, contracts, tax records, uploaded listing docs like surveys, disclosures, broker assistance for questions, etc.).
