For every unit that is another toilet blockage or tenant flooding or heater going out to deal with.

The blockage could have already been there but just not triggered.This is the first time I remotely manage a property and it is really a big headache for me.

If you know the wipes are causing the blockage, charge the tenants for the repairs. 

Sometimes you get the blockage cleared when snaking backwards.

So we had a tenant who accidentally (no idea how this actually happens) left their bathroom sink, which had a little blockage, running over night and caused flooding onto their floor and into the unit below.

I invest in Indianapolis and have found cracks, blockages, and bad connections in the sewer lines in 50% of the properties I do scopes on (built < 1970s).

The plumber did not find any blockage and I thought it would be the end of that. 

Fast forward to today, we called the same complexes but now they have changed over to new management 2 weeks ago and now they do not allow this type of leasing.Does anyone know why this is not allowed anymore and how do I get around this type of blockage if any.

For example, my lease has a clause that reads (in part): "Tenantshall be charged for repair of drain blockages or stoppages, unless caused by defective plumbing parts or tree roots invading sewer lines."

I reached out to the emergency plumber that rodded that line and he told me that when clearing the line they went from my cleanout (which is 15' from the city connection) about 60' towards the city so he estimated they cleared a blockage at least 30' on the city side.
