I could have an excellent carpenter that just don't clean up well, or a good stucco plasterer but leaves wet stucco on my brick pavers for me to clean up with muriatic acid...Give you another example.

If the odor is actually powerful, you need to throw out the old carpet and wash the cement under it with powerful soaps and acids several times

If the fires took place more than a week ago and they were not taken care of properly, you can expect a large bill.Basically, the soot from smoke is acidic and will permanently discolor walls, carpet, ceilings, appliances, etc..

Determining those things on the fly (pun intended) could be considered a violation of fair housing.Birds are pretty messy (they tend to scatter their seed) and bird poop is very acidic which can hurt flooring and flat surfaces if not cleaned quickly.

Paul S. agreed, thats why i never have it... fortunately most of the rentals have nice hardwood underneath the carpet that can be sanded and restored... saw your earlier comment about floors and I have acquired a property with solid floors that needed remediation because of pets... i guess if neglectful owners let acidic dog piss sit long enough damage is done

Some makeup or cleansers do have acid in them and it can bleach out any colored towels. so we stock are bathrooms with makeup wipes.
