As an aside, he has a property in a neighboring town that he will sell for the lump sum.I know there are better options (ie. him keeping the property in his name, refinancing, us managing, etc.) but the above scenario is all that we are looking to explore at this point. 

If you do the math it makes much more sense than paying dorm fees And your kid gets a good education on property ownership and management in the process.

Might want to investigate where you think the trash is coming from maybe there is a school nearby and the kids are walking past and just throwing trash down but I would invest in another trash can or just might have to come a little more regularly to pick up the trash so there is no complaints from the neighbors.  

In addition to this, I own a property in Plantation, Florida, where I’m exploring the potential to add apartments or convert it into a multifamily unit.
