If you want to know how much oil is in it put a stick or weighted string in the opening and there are conversion tables online for inches to gallons depending on tank size.

My wife and I have a 16 gallon bin filled with old sets of keys, locks etc. 

If you're flipping it, it's nice to leave some paint for the new owners for future touch up... unless it's more than a gallon.
