We are  6 hour drive away, so plan to use management comp.

Turn off your GPS and just drive around checking out areas.

I agree with the comments about investing locally or within a reasonable drive, say 2 hours. 

And yet the millionaires are buying up coastal real estate, all while tell common folks to stop eating beef and driving SUVs.

Also, don't knock driving for $'s.

I’ll give you that AI can drive machines that one day can build houses to some degree.  

We have shaken the trees as much as possible but from the Board of Commissioners, Director of Public Works, Manager of Building Dept to the assigned plan examiner, they have closed ranks on us and given us the boilerplate response of "you're in line, wait your turn."
