I have a small real estate portfolio and a long investing horizon as I'm in my early 30s.Thoughts on why to stop 401k:- no match benefit- returns are very low avg. annual ~5.5% last 3 years net of fees- can only borrow up to 50k from 401k - limited access to capital until retirement age Thoughts on why it could be good to invest in ETFs or general securities example instead(SPY) :- higher returns 9% avg annual last 3 years net of fees - access to capital - securities backed line of credit (could be used as another form of liquidity to continue purchasing real estate) - long-term mitigated tax liability - if you never sell the underlying securities and instead use the line of credit as a form of liquidity to purchase assetsIt seems like this could be a long-term strategy with limited tax liability.

This can be useful if you want to keep growing your portfolio without being limited by personal DTI or income requirements.That said, here are a couple of things to keep in mind:DSCR Loan Terms: These loans often have higher interest rates and different terms compared to conventional mortgages, so it's important to assess whether the potential benefits of restructuring the loan through your LLC outweigh the cost of refinancing.Asset Protection Plan: Even if you refinance into a DSCR loan, make sure to have a solid estate plan in place.

An attorney can give his opinion as to what the odds are of the different ways a legal dispute can play out, but it’s the investors decision based on a cost/benefit/ risk analysis to decide how and of to proceed.There’s no way for anyone to render an opinion about what you “should” have done without (1) complete information as to the property being purchased and (2) complete information as to the risk tolerance and financial makeup of your investment group.Here’s my advice - don’t second guess yourself based on opinions of people who (1) don’t possess “all the facts” and (2) probably never acted as sponsors of a syndicated investment.

My instinct tells me yes if I can find quality properties at my price point, but that there could be some benefit to putting it all on one potentially more reliable/higher quality structure.
