Is that outdoor shower of yours set up such that it could cause damage from water accumulating, or is there clearly adequate drainage? 

My advice is to cut expenses, save aggressively and accumulate cash.

Not quite sure what to expect but this is all happening just around the time I decided to start my REI journey (albeit I’m still in the education and money accumulation phase).Wondering what MA is like from an investor perspective (I’ll be living in Everett), best way to go about understanding a new market, and looking to meet some new friends!

The thought behind this was that if I can accumulate enough 'seed' money, I could start doing fix and flips; which in theory could turn that raise I passed on, into much more. 

What's Happening: After living away from Massachusetts for about 20 years, I am moving back.Goals: Accumulate more real estate which I can rent out, ideally closer to cash flowing is better (I realize this will be difficult in Massachusetts, especially some areas)Utilize the benefits being an owner occupier - low down payment and low ratesAlthough I'll move to Mass. in a few months, in about 18 months, I'd like to land in a town with excellent schools and in a property that we will live in for the next 20 years; ie, not constantly move my familyApproaches: Approach 1: Purchase two properties in the next year The first property would be one that we would live in for a year, then move out of and rent thereafter.

The reality of following that advice will not be easy but it will set you up for a lifetime of wealth accumulation from a young age, something that I wish had happened to me.

You may have to start small build equity and work your way up whether its 1031 exchange or just accumulating more assets..

If you are seeking out asset accumulation and equity appreciation over the long term then there are certainly fortunes to be made.

A potential difficulty is moisture accumulation below the surface of an older foam roofs so make sure it is dry 1st.
