They did this with a combination of landscaping, a gate, and updating the private entrance. 

Security is everything when it comes to self-storage, make sure you have a great security system with a gate, lights, cameras, etc.

I would like to collect evidence of said behavior so that I can present it as evidence to cops but don't know if it is legal if I install a camera facing the front gate of the duplex. 

Continuous possession is broken by gating the road at least 1 day per year in an obvious way (not secretively at 2-4am or hazardously setting traps). 

I'm thinking:1.several vicious attack dogs2. electric fences with intercom entry  gate and daily changing passwords 3. a moat filled with alligators Or do what the less crazy people said before....best of luck!
