@Sandee SampsonA construction attorney would be who to contact but you are going to spend a lot more than $7000 in getting this resolved against a builder.Also let’s say you win, the courts could also say you didn’t pay for a retaining wall which is needed so it’s a betterment to the property so you would still need to pay for the wall and they would be responsible for some soil etc.

Based off our lease agreement, my lawyer says that it is the responsibility of each tenant to repair their own space.

Cons- depending on your personal financials, qualifying might be more challenging and the loan might not amortize over 30-years.Another alternative would be a business-purpose rehab loan (fix and flip/fix to rent).

I would double check all this, but my understanding is as follows:The property owner is still responsible for repaying the mortgage, even after condemnation.
