If you elect to register your LLC in another state, then you would want to register that LLC as a "foreign entity" in Indiana

Is my wife going to be happy living in a foreign state with no beach and year round 70 degree weather.  

In addition you will have to register that CT LLC as a foreign entity doing business in MI.

Some of it is actually foreign investment.

Some of them are just looking to park money (foreign buyers, those who have lots of money and want it “protected”, etc.), others are buying for their children i.e. passing it along, others are just terrified of getting left out in the cold in related to rent increases.

I'm looking to syndicate a large multi-family project and have received interest from a few foreign investors.

@Amir GiryesThere are some banks in US that will lend to foreigners, however this will be an equity loan, you wont be jumping hoops as you will with regular lender.
