Now, at face value it would seem that having a paid off house and bigger cashflow is desirable, but it misses a LOT of depth on the overall picture. for instance, I have a mortgage on the property I posted for 100% of my invested funds, meaning I have no money in the deal.

For instance, I don't need an inspector to tell me that my building in Berwyn has old galvanized plumbing that will cause problems.

For instance, when I am at a big box and I see a great closeout deal on vinyl flooring, I will buy enough to do an apartment or two whether or I need it or not at that time.

For instance, I pay 2k for a 2 bedroom 1 bath appartment with no access to the 4 car garage or the backyard 🤷♂️ The couple in second floor probably pays the same or close.  

In 32 years of being a landlord I have never had a reimbursable instance of a tenant staying in hotel accommodations.
