I'll add that this situation has been communicated to a local CPA/attorney for assistance and the plan is to hire this out but am asking here for additional background and understanding because I had not idea what the answer should be.If you are curious, the background of the question is this:   The depreciable basis for a condo that was sold in 2017 was calculated incorrectly from the it was used as a rental which started in 2009.

I would suggest not just dumping it all on the title company and expecting them to handle everything with no communication from you.
