@ Christopher LanganHere's what I use, again this is a ballpark until due diligence is performed to take into account all the repairs and or liens etc...Light Fixer (paint,floor coverings, landscaping) $10 sq. feetMedium Fixer (Same as light, PLUS new kitchen & baths) $25 sq. feet                   $20 - 2000 sq. ft. or larger               Heavy Fixer (Same as Medium, PLUS 2 heavy items...HVAC, Roof etc.) $30Super Heavy Fixer (Same as Heavy, PLUS 4 heavy items) $40I hope that helps.

But it just seems to work that way. 3) New appliances - black 4) When flooring is needed: Medium grade frieze for carpet in living areas, ceramic in kitchens and bathrooms although sometimes I do laminate in kitchen depending on the height/surface in connecting rooms.5) Replace countertops if dated or damaged.6) Paint all walls - but only paint ceiling if really bad.7) Certifiy HVAC8) Replace kitchen faucet but not bathroom unless really bad.9) An upgraded ceiling fan in living room and master bedroom.Thats typically my list and then I do what most of the others have mentioned above.

So, measure you existing width, then look for a window that will fit in that width and figure out how tall it needs to be.

It is a 1920s brick.Structurally vinyl windows aren't as stiff so the visible width of the sashes tends to be bigger than wood and sometimes that's a problem visually.
