There is much less possibility of freezes and pipe bursts.

I probably wouldn’t have a pool at rental where it had to e opened and closed with hard freeze conditions.

And also because the housing authority put a freeze on all rent increases.

I was there in 09 and it was a freeze that busted all the lines and the city ran out of water there simply was no water brown or not.I will have to check in with my contacts there as I am curious many own 50 plus homes there..

haha, Bill, funny you should say that, we had a freeze a few weeks ago in the ATL and I walked into a house it was raining in.

Water line in an un-heated attic space will run the risk of a burst pipe due to freezing. 

I understand that slabs are not a good fit for cold climates as they can crack if the ground freezes, but then this house has been around for decades already. 

If this is at ground level, and depending on what your winters are like in Texas, I would suspect this is the result of annual freeze/thaw cycles, in which case there may be no getting away from the problem without serious renovation work.

I know there are some BRILLIANT people out there who are willing to help someone with a serious case of *BRAIN FREEZE* ....lol.
