If the banks decline the short sale, my friend and i are thinking about just walking away. we're both braced for 7 years of bad luck and see it as our last but acceptable option... we're not all caught up in "loosing our home" emotions because we want out.

So, collecting the cash now and holding off on buying a residence might be reasonable.If you can easily find houses for $75K, I'd dig a little deeper and find ones I could buy for $55-60K.

I can be opposed to a politician because of their policies without suffering any emotional distress because they don't share my beliefs and values.I will look at the Obama Presidency the same way I did the Clinton one before the 1994 election.
