It was the private investors who funded those loans that relied on their lenders policy to get paid back .. of course title would not pay any interest. it was a mess of epic proportions the guy that did it plead guilty and within 8 months was doing 9 years in San Quention so you can't stop criminal intent and actions, so you need insurance to protect yourself.

The idea being that since the paperwork for the program is minimal, and the voucher allows a tenant to pay rent at the industry standard proportion of income, there is no undue burden on the landlord for accepting these tenants.

In other words, he doesn't want to do it so he's giving you a price so insanely high that you almost have to say no.I don't do asphalt, but in my area you can get a concrete slab with 4" of compacted ABC for $20/sf or less.

In certain areas a large proportion of the potential renters may be section 8, in which case it's probably worth it to get educated on the rules to be able to take these tenants.
