The country has held democratically free elections since 1994 and have opened their economy to foreign investment and eco tourism as the benefits to the Costa Rican economy were obvious.

What's missing is the promises of wealth pouring into the city; the job creation, lower taxes due to the coffers being full, increased tourism and of course, the housing boom. 

The media can and does latch onto a few negative items but the facts are that CA is breaking records for VC funding,  exports,  tourism and tech growth.  

I dont know how it will affect housing prices but we will loose a lot of our summer tourism.

And, there are $22B projects under construction, which will create thousands of additional jobs.A population growing at a sustainable rate (2.5% to 3%), limited land for expansion, and good-paying jobs will keep Las Vegas rents and prices increasing for the foreseeable future.Other factors will continue Las Vegas’ growth for the foreseeable future that I will not go into here.A question I frequently get concerns income reliability - the connection between jobs and tourism.

The areas that I am interested in are surf tourism destinations (primarily focused on Rincon/Aguadilla/Isabella, Puerto Rico but also interested in various areas of Nicaragua, and Panama). 

Hi Account Closed, thank you for your response. from my initial research i see a lot of positive feedback on Portugal right now and Algarve seems to be the most popular destination for increasing tourism over the last few years. if you have any information that you can share such as rental yields, cash flow from an average vacation rental property etc, that would be great. also how is the cost of buying in Portugal now?

Now their way of life, fishing and tourism, is being destroyed.

There seems to be a lot of properties on the market since it's the slow season, so not sure if now is a good time to actually pull the trigger since it may not be until March or so when tourism picks back up. 

I'm not completely sure about the downturn, but can speculate that the tourism industry suffered during the recession, but seems to be rebounding pretty well now.I was just throwing it out there on posting those properties.
