You’re all set just the way it is.

I know many people who own real estate that are not citizens of the US.

The only exception are parents, relatives and close friends (i.e. angel investors).Best bet is to build some experience by house hacking (FHA loans allow for buying up to a fourplex, as long as you live there, with only 3.5% down). 

And I will go outside, and when I hear the noise, I will look at the home itself and start listing the things I love about it.

I'm in the Tampa area and mainly had mine in the Pinellas County area.  

Just know right up front that it is a very risky business, particularly right now.

Last time I checked, the prices did go up.
