I have found people to partner with to do deals, and have earned back double my cost of joining after only being in the group for 1 year. 

During my journey to obtaining my degree in real estate financing, I have found that single family homes cause a great financial burned if the tenant decides not to pay their rent.

Another option to consider is using the space for Airbnb or mid-term rentals.Here in Texas, basements aren't common, but I found a home where the third bedroom had its own entrance right off the driveway.

I found a property at one point and approached the person in the group that had wanted that type of property. 

I've tried real estate crowdfunding and found it pretty interesting.

I found it through word of mouth at work and ended up buying it from a coworker who initially wanted to rent it for me.

I found a tenant who signed one year lease contract.

What we found out doing our research is that in Costa Rica, large vacation rental properties that are different than other properties can create a good return because the competition is lower and also money lending can be a good return because you can charge high interest with only a 50% loan.

I found one had been sold, and I was extremely surprised to find that there were none for sale at all.
