The IC agreement the agent signs with brokerage says something to the affect of " If the agent does not get brokerage approvals for any alteration to the listing agreement regarding commissions then the split will come off the full commission owed "So in this case the listing agent is thinking 3,000 X .25 = 750 brokerage = 2,250 net to agent.What really is going to happen to the agent. 6,000 X .25 = 1,500 3,000 - 1,500 = 1,500 net to agent.This is what happens when agents do things without telling their brokers.
