Every house inspection will uncover a list of problems.

It's awful to say, but it would relieve a lot of the pressure on social security.There are a lot of republicans (and no, I don't have a political side they've both got too many flaws) who are kind of bluntly saying the the economy shouldn't come to a total crash to save those who are the biggest burden to the system (ie, those who can't contribute due to existing conditions, age, retirement, etc).

@Quadeer Porter you've got the seller in a tough spot given you uncovered a safety hazard severe enough that the property needs to be evacuated. 

It's the borrowers.For you to blame them for your failure, shows a flaw in your understanding of how it works.

They ended up not giving an inch even though their assessment of the property was pretty flawed  I didn't want to be locked up for that long, even though we had planned to hold as a rental when we moved into a SFR or bigger house hack duplex/tri. 

If not, tell them what you uncovered in your inspection and re-negotiate.

during the inspection and due diligence process I uncovered that the furnace/boiler was past its life expectancy and has never had any maintenance done on it.

When you rehab projects you generally see every flaw so you can address them.  

You do have to uncover a lot of owners since they get bombarded by calls.
