Let me start this out by saying bad things happen but good people work their way out of it.Due to2 babies, my health and several hospital stays the following is my situation.Own my home.

In Michigan, they would be liable for the rent until the new tenant was in place unless the lease says otherwise or they were leaving for a bigger reason- health, safety, etc.  

So that would potentially be another cost/health problem.

The inspector spent about 7 hours going through it with a fine toothed comb and did a stellar job, thankfully.

This packet should have contained all the vital info. needed to determine the health of the HOA, as it should contain budgets, minutes, etc. 

We have to make sure we get an inspection, find out what's wrong with the property, see if it's economically feasible to rehab the property, ensure we are compliant with all local/state rules regarding REO property, register the property if applicable, ensure health and safety issues are addresssed (Toxic DDT Landfill?)

Better know who boarded up the place, the owner, the bank, planning & zoning, building regs, health department.....who?

She claims that she doesn't have to pay rent because the oven needs to be fixed.I thought that in CT, one could only withhold rent if there was a health and safety concern.

inherited tenant is threatening to sue due to mold causing daughters health issues.

Contact health dept and let them know eviction is pending and work to be completed once gone.
