When interest rates were at 18%, a 8% loan seemed like a great deal.The “exchange” part of the 1031 is a VERY LIBERAL definition; usually those wanting to “exchange a property find a buyer, sell them the property, put the funds into an escrow administered by an exchange specialist, and use the funds to purchase a new, larger property.
