An estoppel letter or estoppel certificate is essentially a letter which outlines all of the terms of a tenancy (start date, place leased, rental amount, amount of security deposit, lease term, any covenants, etc) and is reviewed and signed by the tenant.

There is IRS Form 14135 - Application for Certificate of Discharge of Property from Federal Tax Lien.

Also John If you're a vet you may be eligible for the mortgage credit certificate program that will give you a 20% tax credit on all mortgage interest you pay.
