Don't want to publicly post anything here that could be taken the wrong way, but I have my view and opinion of things. 

Am I wrong for this thought process?

You are looking to investing for the wrong reasons.

Chicago feels to be saturated and over priced, not finding great deals, but I could be wrong? 

Also, equity in general (meaning high net worth individuals/families, hedge funds, institutional) are only going to back  experienced developers when it comes to an asset class as niche as data centers, especially since there are so many things that can go wrong: what if that submarket doesn't have a need for that use by the time you are entitled? 

I’ve been at this a Long time, and almost all these people bragging on how they made money anticipating the last crash (or boom) get the next one COMPLETELY WRONG.

I would recommend it, but do it safely and NEVER leave any space for tenants to say you did something wrong/illegal.

Also, there are plenty here and elsewhere who will brag on their program unabashedly -- those to whom a $20K+renewals membership is a drop in the bucket and/or those who have yet to invest with a syndicator-gone-wrong.
