The market is great as it is still recovering.

People can and do lose money in ETFs, go back and find the paragraph about the average investor loss in Fidelity Magellen fund back during Peter Lynch tenure.  

When I asked why, I think I understood them to say they included the depreciation for both years on 2023 and there is a carry forward of losses ($13k).  

The two purchased in Dec 2021 took less than 2 years to recover my investment in unrealized equity increase (I chose not to refi due to the higher rates).  

If you aren't planning to try to resell, you won't risk having to take a capital loss.

That is a big loss. 

Now, I would pick my battle and perhaps find a win win for this, but this is a win and a loss for everyone else. 

If you search these forums you will find countless syndication investors burned by paused redemptions, loss of most or all of their principal, investment promoters disappearing, etc.
