I'm exploring options to purchase a new home as a primary residence within a 3 hour drive of Houston George Bush Intl Airport (IAH) with a USDA loan that I could turn into an Airbnb to rent out when I am not there because I spend a lot of time overseas.

While my husband and his ex make a similar income and do not exchange child support due to us pointing that out in court a couple of years ago, she actively request all financial documents that she possibly can and examines our taxes, etc. 

Or they somehow break or even disappear when tenant moves out.

I manage tons of homes for investors and owners, and I have this conversation all the time.

I don't have an answer, but now I'm following this.

Some people will do this with one building, then after a year go out and repeat the process with another property.

This is troubling.

I ended up entrusting five properties to their management, and I know of two other out-of-state investors who used them as well.
