I usually gut bathroom to studs and have plumber replace any galvanized or cast iron plumbing with pex and pvc, make sure exterior wall has insulation and plastic, check my wiring and move if necessary, install new fart fan, new drywall, tub, vanity, medicine cabinet, towel bars, usually run tile from top of tub to ceiling, new toilet, vinyl plank flooring.

The one's at the box stores are inexpensive and easy to install and the new good looking  heavy glass one's have to be professionally installed (pretty much) and are very pricey.You can just put up a clear plastic liner if you want the bathroom to look a little more finished for no money and the tenant  can put a decrotive one over it if they prefer.I guess the glass door are a little better at keeping most of the water off the floor but most people do alright with the shower curtains.

I do a lot of 3D printing in plastic, and when talking about using it for home construction, I have doubts if it will ever go mainstream for the fact that when dealing with 3D printed concrete, you are talking about an incredibly rough surface finish, that then must be finished.
