I will be putting my mothers condo up for rental. 

Bug spray bombed during the hours we (wife, oldest grandson and myself) went to my mothers 81st birthday party today.

However, HUD will allow for a reduction in the offer if a problem that's unknown now crops up after the offer has been accepted - I know several people (including my mother) that got some money off their HUD deal.

I think there are many over looked opportunities like mother in law suites, finished basements with walk out, finished garage, or building an ADU, renting to room mates to offset cost, etc.

Definitely seems sketchy...especially all these "self help" answers and quoting Mother Teresa.I use Propstream.

Zoning, subcontractors, mother nature, P/I during construction and rent up, your loan doesn't get "fixed" until after construction, material inflation, etc, etc, etc.You have taken most of the risk off the table with family financing and family construction.

I screened Tenant B per usual, although they have the least rental history of anyone I've rented to and are getting a bit of the benefit of the doubt based on Tenant A having been good (plus they have a guarantor, the mother of both tenants).Tenant A is moving out half a month before their year-long lease ends.

Also, my mother just finished rehabbing her first rental which she bought with hml in her personal name less than 6 months ago.
