Before starting my own financial education nonprofit, I volunteered for Junior Achievement, The Cooperative Ministry (an organization that helps low-income people take care of their bills), and several other organizations that have a millennial target market.

There is no debt but the spend per year in salaries, upkeep, and ministries is becoming too large to ignore compared to worship offerings, lease income from tenants/school, and a small amount of interest income.

Then there's a Christian ministry school that draws about 3000 students, but have no dorm space, so it's a huge cottage industry renting room space, and getting far higher ROI than typical rentals.

One was in youth ministry, and the other group was just some young friends who wanted to hike and ride horses in the mountains.
