Jason C. Anybody still use carpet in rentals?

I have been using the vinyl plank flooring for the last few rentals we picked up, but I got one now where we are a little lighter on budget and so I was thinking of going with carpet, Home Depot has free install, and I just pulled carpet out of this house, so my tack strips are already in place.

Cabinets should be a nice colored wood (dark sells well) and counters should compliment the wood by being lighter.

Nick, what I like to do in this situation is use a lighter color grey for the brick, THEN on the same color swatch, I will choose a darker color from the same swatch for the trim and/or shutters.

It allows me to pack lighter because I can reuse the clothes I have or if time permits I actually do a load before I get home so then I can just unpack and call it a day.

Yes, but what I like about the 100 year old floors are how they seem to wear slightly lighter in the middle and darker on the edges, just real slight, and then the little nicks that appear darker.I have had patches put in where the old floor heaters were and, yes its amazing that they can match them so they do not even show a patch was put there.
